Tenerife's south coast offers volcanic reefs, wrecks and turtle sites in clear 20–24°C water. If you have never dived, a try dive (Discover Scuba) pairs you one-on-one or two-on-one with an instructor for a shallow shore or boat dive — no certification needed, minimum age 10. Certified divers can join guided boat dives to sites like the El Condesito wreck or the rays at Los Chuchos. All equipment is included. Tell us your experience level and dates; we match you with a licensed dive centre and you pay them directly.

Who it's for (and who it isn't)
Beginners who want to breathe underwater for the first time (the try dive exists exactly for that), and certified divers who want volcanic topography rather than coral. If anyone in the group is nervous, shore try dives in a calm bay are the gentlest start. Important: no flying for at least 12–18 hours after diving, so do not schedule it the day before your flight home.
Honest tips before you book
- Book the try dive early in your holiday — you need 12–18 hours before flying home.
- Shore dives from Las Galletas are the calmest option for nervous first-timers.
- Ask for the turtle sites; the resident green turtles are reliable at several south-coast spots.
- Certified divers: bring your cert card and logbook, or check if the centre accepts digital proof.
